Semarang: Undip Rector Prof. Suharnomo expressed his deep appreciation for the achievements of superior lectures that form complete competencies for students and graduates of this campus.

This was stated by Undip Rector Suharnomo when attending the celebration of the eighth Dies Natalis of Undip Vocational School at the Prof. Soedarto Auditorium Building, Undip.

Prof. Suharnomo said that famous companies immediately accepted many Undip Vocational School graduates after graduation.

“There was even one graduate that I heard was fought over by four companies at once,” he said.

He said that this kind of achievement is proud because it is only natural that graduates of applied sciences have strong self-confidence, so it is easy to get a place to pursue a career.

Rector Suharnomo did not miss telling the success story of Undip alums who also started from vocational lectures.

“My friend is an alumnus of the Undip Engineering Diploma, formerly known as the Technology Expert Education (PAT) Faculty of Engineering. He is Mr. Gandi Sulistiyanto,” explained Suharnomo.

Gandi Sulistiyanto’s story is often conveyed in several meeting forums.

Gandi is not an ordinary figure because he is known as a businessman and has served as a member of the Presidential Advisory Council and the Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea.

The story of the struggle of this Undip alumni is expected to inspire.

Dean Budiyono acknowledged the achievements made at the Undip Vocational School due to all parties’ hard work and support, including support from Undip Chancellor Suharnomo.

The Dies Natalis event was also filled with a scientific oration by the Faculty of Science and Mathematics professor, Undip, Prof. M Nur, a scientist in plasma physics and ozone technology.

This event was also filled with a sharing session with the Dean of the UGM Vocational School, Prof. Dr. Agus Maryono, and UNS Prof. Dr. Herman Saputro.

There was also a wayang kulit performance by puppeteer Ki Edy Pengging (Dr. Edy Raharja), a lecturer at the Undip Vocational School, with the play Sang Hanoman.
