UNDIP Vocational School Wins 6 Titles at Olivia X 2025

Semarang, August 1, 2025 – The Vocational School of Diponegoro University (UNDIP) proudly secured First Place in the Applied Skills category for the Landscape Gardening Design competition at the Olimpiade Vokasi Indonesia (OLIVIA) X 2025, hosted by Universitas Brawijaya, Malang, on July 29–31, 2025. The winning team, consisting of Ayu Pramesti, Nabilla Tarantika, and Alhafidzah Ranova Zahira, are students from the Civil Infrastructure Engineering and Architectural Design Program, Vocational School, Diponegoro University.

Carrying the theme Smart and Sustainable Garden, the team presented their project titled Path of Calm. Ayu explained their concept:
“Our garden, Path of Calm, interprets the theme by creating an urban mini garden that is environmentally friendly, inclusive, educational, and sustainable, with a touch of local culture. For the softscape, we chose landscape plants that are aesthetic, climate-adaptive, easy to maintain, and aligned with low-carbon principles. For the hardscape, we used natural and recycled materials, avoiding cast concrete and single-use plastics. Our innovations include solar-powered devices and educational media such as QR codes, posters, and interactive 3D designs. We hope this garden can serve as a real example that smart, aesthetic, and sustainable green spaces can be built on a small scale and easily applied, becoming both a fun learning medium and a way to raise environmental awareness,” she said.

The Olimpiade Vokasi Indonesia (OLIVIA) is an annual competition designed for vocational education students across Indonesia. The event aims to sharpen practical skills while encouraging innovation and creativity in both technical and non-technical fields.
