Diponegoro University’s Vocational School proudly presents another inspiring alumni success story through the profile of Teguh Winarno, S.T., a graduate of the 2000 cohort of the Diploma III Naval Engineering Program. With more than two decades of experience, Teguh is recognized as one of Indonesia’s influential professionals in coating inspection, ship repair, and technical management within the shipyard industry.
Throughout his career, Teguh has demonstrated strong dedication as a Coating Inspector, Technical Specialist, and Owner Superintendent & Consultant in various strategic projects, both nationally and internationally. From 2006 to 2013, he joined PT Jotun Indonesia, a global maritime coatings company, as a coating adviser overseeing coating quality in major shipyards. His expertise led him to be trusted as a Specialist Coating Inspector for Western Indonesia and as Team Leader for projects in Cilegon and Sumatra.
Teguh’s career continued to expand as he became involved in several major projects, including serving as Painting & Hull Surveyor for two VLGC vessels owned by Pertamina at Hyundai Heavy Industries (Korea), and as Coating Advisor for LNG vessel docking projects in Japan. These international engagements strengthened his technical competence in coating standards, material quality testing, and maritime safety procedures.
Since 2017, Teguh has served as the Director of PT Jala Sutra Utama in Jakarta, a company specializing in technical consultancy and inspection. Through this role, he continues to contribute to ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in ship maintenance and construction processes in Indonesia.
Teguh’s journey is clear evidence that UNDIP Vocational graduates possess strong competitiveness, industry readiness, and adaptive capabilities in facing the challenges of the modern maritime sector.
