Rofik Wahyu Hidayat, a student of the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology Study Program (Prodi) at the Diponegoro University Vocational School, won third place in the Diploma Program category in the Selection of Outstanding Students (2024 Presidential Election). The final will be offline at Gorontalo State University on 24 – 28 July 2024. Pilmapres is a student competition organized by the Indonesian Talent Development Center, National Achievement Center, and Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. It takes place every year. The aim is to show appreciation to the best students ready to become agents of change and build a better Indonesia. In this final, 31 students from 28 participating universities were selected.

Dean of SV Undip Prof. Dr. Ir. Budiyono, M.Si, said he was grateful for Rofik Wahyu Hidayat’s achievements. The reason is that apart from bringing Undip’s good name, it will also be an example and inspiration for other students to support Undip’s progress and be beneficial to the nation and state. The event was closed by Expert Staff for Talent Management of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Tatang Muttaqin, S.Sos., M. Ed., Ph.D. On that occasion, Tatang Muttaqin said that this event was an extraordinary achievement for the participants entering the 2024 Presidential Election. They were at the best level and the best students in Indonesia. “Young siblings are talents who will become winners in their fields. “Not only social, academic, and portfolio abilities, but all lines,” he explained.

According to Tatang, talent development is one form of development activity on campus. So that students can develop in their fields. Produce hard skills and soft skills that have a positive impact on society at large. “Pilmapres participants are exemplary students who other students can imitate. So that his work impacts the good of others, this competition allows participants to be dedicated. “Also as a platform to encourage achievement and role models,” he explained.

Rofik Wahyu Hidayat, a 6th-semester student, also gave his impressions and messages during the selection process until he succeeded in winning. According to him, he is proud and happy to be able to carry the name of Undip, especially vocational schools, in the Diploma category in the 2024 Presidential Election in Gorontalo. It is certainly not easy to achieve this position. But hard work and strong belief, especially in yourself, will lead us to success. The message is for Vocational friends and all Undip students: keep fighting until, one by one, your dreams come true; maybe we will never know which dream God will make come true first, but at least we can plan which dream we will achieve first—enthusiasm for everyone for the sake of a strong Vocational School that strengthens Indonesia.
