BEM Diponegoro University Vocational School carries out Bhakti Bumi service activities in Purworejo. Bhakti Bumi will be held for three days, from 27 to 29 October 2023. Bhakti Bumi is a community service activity in Kertojayan Village, Grebeg District, Purworejo Regency, Central Java. This activity focuses on two divisions: the education development division and the village and technology development division. Bhakti Bumi also involved delegates from associations at the Diponegoro University Vocational School.
From the education development division, there is a hand-washing practice program, English language classes, and activities of the Indonesian Children’s Toothbrush Bank, as well as hand-washing practices and distribution of toothbrushes, which are evenly distributed to all children. Apart from that, there are activities to learn the Koran together and draw calligraphy, which adds to the fun with the children of Kartojayan Village.
Furthermore, the PLN Mobile Socialization and MSME Development went well from the village development and technology division. There are even residents who give agricultural products to the Earth Service Committee. The tourism development program through social media is also going well, starting from the concept, content creation, and publication, which is also going well. On the third day of Bhakti Bumi, there was a Genjik Beach Cleaning activity. Even more interesting was the art performance activity, which included performances by the children of Kertojayan Village, which also served as the closing of Bhakti Bumi.
“Thank God yesterday’s Bhakti Bumi activity was carried out well. This can be seen from the success of the work programs implemented by the technology development and education divisions. Yesterday’s Earth Service event was also very memorable because of the enthusiasm of the residents there, who warmly welcomed the arrival of the delegates and committee. Apart from focusing on the work program, we also prioritized the closeness between us, the delegates, the committee, the residents, and the house owners who accommodated us while carrying out Earth Service there. .” Said Andini Putri, Chief Executive of Bhakti Bumi 2023.
“The hope is that Bhakti Bumi can have an impact on society. Hopefully, the results of the socialization can be applied, such as children being able to start learning English because previously there were no English classes, diligently washing their hands and brushing their teeth. It is hoped that other village residents will be able to allocate work results better due to socializing MSMEs and can be more concerned about maintaining the security of the electricity network through socializing PLN’s mobile. “With the implementation of Bhakti Bumi, it is hoped that this activity will have an impact on all committees and delegates, and it is hoped that through the experience of Bhakti Bumi, the delegates from the association and BEM SV UNDIP can deepen their respective educational programs to foster awareness in the wider community,” he concluded.
