The Logistics Management and Administration Student Association (HMMAL) Undip Vocational School has successfully received funding from the Directorate General of Vocational Education (Diksi) through the Village Community Empowerment Program (P2MD).

For five months, from July to November 2023, HMMAL Vocational Undip, with accompanying lecturer Riandhita Eri Werdani, SMB, MSM, has carried out a series of community service activities in Kampung Bahari, Tambachlorok, Semarang.

The service activity entitled “Empowering Communities Responding to Sea Water Disasters (Rob) Through Humanitarian Logistics Training and Assistance in Kampung Bahari Tambak Lorok Semarang,” HMMAL collaborated with the BPBD of Central Java Province and the BPBD of Semarang City.

Riandhita explained that Tambak Lorok, located on the coast of the Java Sea, was chosen because this area is often hit by high tides (tidal waves).

As a result of this tidal flood, several problems arose, including health and environmental cleanliness.

Give Help

Several activities, including humanitarian logistics education, were held to mitigate the tidal flood disaster.

It is forming a task force team (task force) that is alert and responsive to all things that trigger tidal flood disasters and makes and installs evacuation signs.

Apart from that, a flood disaster evacuation simulation and assistance with proper waste management were also held to reduce the risk of flooding.

“HMMAL also assists in the form of evacuation tools and APAR to residents,” said Riandhita.

Present as a resource person at the humanitarian logistics education activity, Rizal Hary Susanto from BPBD Central Java Province was accompanied by Slamet Riyanto, Chair of RW 15 Tambak Lorok, and Ali Imron as Chair of the Tangguh Bahari Task Force.

Riandhita hopes that this P2MD HMMAL Undip activity will benefit the residents of Tambak Lorok, especially in terms of knowledge regarding handling tidal flood disasters.
