China, September 4, 2024 – The Shipbuilding Engineering Technology Study Program (TRKP) at the Vocational School of Diponegoro University (SV Undip) has recently initiated a collaboration with Jiangsu Shipping College in China, a vocational institution focused on maritime education and industry. The meeting took place on the Jiangsu Shipping College China campus, where both parties agreed to explore collaborative opportunities in maritime and shipbuilding education.
Representing SV Undip were the Deputy Dean I, Dr. Ida Hayu Dwimawanti, MM, and Deputy Dean II, Dr. Eng. Vita Paramita, S.T., M.M., M.Eng. The Jiangsu delegation included representatives from the province, while the TRKP program was represented by Dr. Zulfaidah Ariany, ST, MT, along with staff member Fitria Herawati, ST, and 12 Undip students. The activities will take place over ten days, from September 3 to September 13, 2024.
Through this initiative, SV Undip aims to enhance opportunities for students in knowledge exchange, practical training in shipbuilding, and skill development in the maritime sector. The Dean of SV Undip, Prof. Dr. Budiono, stated that this collaboration would also support Undip’s goal of becoming a world-class university capable of competing internationally. Additionally, the head of the TRKP program, Dr. Mohd Ridwan, expressed hopes that this partnership would strengthen relations in both industry and education, fostering student growth in a competitive global environment.
Jiangsu Shipping College offers programs such as the School of Navigation Technology and the School of Marine Engineering, which align well with Undip’s vision for maritime education development. This collaboration is expected to have a positive impact, particularly in building the competencies of graduates in advanced shipbuilding technology that meets the demands of the international maritime industry.
