At the beginning of the pandemic yesterday, there were many things that could not be done normally, we students at Undip who migrated to complete some academic activities here with these limited conditions, we want to try not to depend on parents by one way of making a business that can add some income, a product that is still in demand by the public, namely beauty soap.
This made the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology student team led by Dimas Perdana (TRKI 2018) with team members Lulu Nafysa (TRKI 2018), Elvina Kiki (TRKI 2018), Laela Maya Ufa (TRKI 2018), and Ahmad Walihul (TRKI 2018). Innovate by Making Handmade Soap Dauja Soap By Utilizing Guava Leaf Extract (Syzygium Aqueum) As Antiseptic. Dauja Soap’s product received funding in the Program for 100 Young Entrepreneurs of the Vocational School, Diponegoro University 2021. Dauja Soap uses raw materials including palm oil, olive oil, coconat oil, vitamin e oil, methanol, fresh water guava leaves, milk, aloevera, essential oil. From this product, we emphasize the use of guava leaves which contain high antioxidants and are suitable for the skin.
The method of making Dauja Soap is also very easy. First, the guava leaves are dried in the sun for 3 days, then the chrysanthemum flowers, mint leaves and dried mandarin orange peels are mashed using a blender. Then put into a jar and add methanol in a ratio of 1:10. Done extraction process using cold maceration method. Then the extract is added with other ingredients and then printed using a soap mold. This Dauja Soap has passed the organoleptic test stages such as smell, texture, resistance, and color. Then it has been tested for pH, so it is ready to be packaged and marketed.
This Dauja Soap product is sold per piece with a size of 85 grams at a price of Rp. 19,500. The marketing targets are students, the general public, public places, pharmacies, health centers, and hospitals. The turnover obtained can reach 1,499,000/month. In the marketing process, Dauja Soap uses social media promotions through WhatsApp, Line, Instagram and also tik-tok. Then for purchases, you can also go through e-commerce or startups such as shopee, tokopedia, lazada, and also tik-tok shop.
Dauja Soap is proven not only to clean and moisturize the skin, this soap also acts as an antiseptic that can prevent our skin from harmful bacteria and provide a relaxing effect for the body. Soap products with natural ingredients are also safe for use by people with sensitive skin because this soap can also prevent redness and provide a calming effect on the skin.
