Saturday, March 2, 2024, the University Vocational School received a visit from a Member of the Advisory Council of the President of the Republic of Indonesia and a former Ambassador to South Korea, Mr. Ir. Gandi Sulistiyanto Soeherman. He contributes to the Sinar Mas Building for Diponegoro University Vocational School. Mr. Gandi and PAT (Technology Expert Education) alums visited several educational spaces and facilities and discussed strengthening Undip Vocational School education.

Mr. Gandi had a career at Sinarmas, and his professional career became increasingly brilliant at the Sinar Mas Group. He started by serving as President and Director of EkaLife life insurance in 1992. Five years later, in 1997, he founded LG Mas loss insurance. In 1999, he was appointed Commissioner of BII. He also holds responsibilities as Deputy President of Asia Pulp and Paper (APP) Sinarmas and PR of Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology Tbk. Then, I was commissioner at Sinarmas Financial Services and Sinarmas Land (2001-2015). Thanks to his promising achievements, in 2000, he was drawn to the Sinar Mas corporation and tasked with restructuring as Managing Director of the Sinarmas Group. He also serves as President Commissioner at Smartfren Telecom and PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk. While building his career, Mr. Gandi actively develops soft skills to enrich his abilities. He took part in the Top Management Program at the Asia Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines, in 1999. In 2011, he studied at Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.

Mr. Gandi, through the Sinar Mas Group in collaboration with Astra International, has built the Undip Vocational School Building in Tembalang to prove his devotion to his alma mater. President Joko Widodo inaugurated the four-story building with a green building concept in August 2020. Entering January 2021, his name was already widely mentioned on the list of prospective ambassadors, but only in July did he undergo a fit and proper test. After waiting a long time, it was only last September that he received confirmation that he would carry out his duties as ambassador.
To carry out his state duties, Mr Gandi finally gave up his career at Sinarmas, which he had held for 30 years. Quoting the Sinarmas YouTube channel, Mr. Gandi expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work for 30 years at Sinarmas in his speech at the Sinarmas 83rd Anniversary Dialogue Forum: Economic Outlook 2022.
