Friday, April 26, 2024, Undip Vocational School inaugurated the Teaching Factory (TEFA) building which was inaugurated directly by the Chancellor, Prof Dr Yos Johan Utama. The Dean of the Vocational School, Prof. Dr. Budiyono, Chairman of the Academy Senate, Prof., lecturers, education staff, and Undip Vocational School students attended the inauguration. We also invited company delegations who have been close partners in bridging industry needs for graduates and valuable products from within the campus.
According to the Chair of the Committee and Commitment Making Officer (PPK) for the Construction of the Undip Tefa SV Building, Dr. Ir. Agung Dwiyanto, M.T., the construction of the Tefa building cost IDR 20.1 billion. Consists of a five-story laboratory building and a one-story workshop. Built on an area of approximately 2,200 square meters, construction will occur from July 2023 to January 2024. This building will be a modern additional facility to support a good lecture atmosphere. The construction of the new building is sure to meet the requirements for multi-story buildings, laboratory facilities, and supporting facilities for student lectures and lectures.
Previously, the Undip Vocational School received a grant for magnificent building facilities from PT Sinar Mas several years ago. Chancellor Yos Johan Utama also inaugurated this facility. According to Dean Budiyono, Undip’s highest crown currently emphasizes educating students so they can be highly competitive. They must be quickly absorbed in the job market after graduating from college. However, the question is fundamentally what must be done to get the crown. The answer is that students are directed to be close to the world of business and industry while studying. They are forged through project-based learning (PBL) system education.
This also supports Undip in preparing qualified graduates who are quickly absorbed into the job market. “On the other hand, all procurement and additional facilities at SV are related to supporting the PBL program. “Including the new construction of the Tefa building, which many companies have directly supported,” explained Budiyono to the press on Tuesday (30/4/2024). In the future, this facility can be used by all students to bridge the manufacture of many precise and acceptable products to industry. Chancellor Yos Johan expressed his appreciation for all the breakthroughs made by SV. He also said that many buildings in this place were silent witnesses to the beginning of the construction of the Undip Campus in the Tembalang complex. Of course, many rooms and buildings are now quite old. However, with the various accelerations and breakthroughs that have been made, modern buildings have now been erected to support comfortable and enjoyable lecture facilities.
