Cibelok (06/08/2024) In the era of increasingly rapid digitalization, various aspects of daily life can now be done online, including administrative matters such as PBB (Land and Building Tax) payments. One of the latest innovations in simplifying this process is through the Shopee application, a leading e-commerce platform in Indonesia. This initiative aims to provide convenience and efficiency in PBB payments and address the challenges often faced by Taxpayers in various regions.
Previously, in Cibelok Village, payments were made collectively to the Hamlet Head in the village by visiting from house to house. This encountered a problem when the local Hamlet Head or RT could not meet residents at home because they were busy with work. Therefore, this step is an effort to simplify the PBB payment process.
Regular KKN students from TEAM II Diponegoro University in Cibelok Village took the initiative to provide education and assistance regarding the procedures for paying Land and Building Tax through one of the Shopee application features. This educational and mentoring activity explicitly targets the Kledung Hamlet, Cibelok Village, Taman District, and Pemalang Regency community. Mazaya Nabila Erwin implements the PBB Payment Digitalization Program from the Tax Accounting Department of the Vocational School of Diponegoro University.
This mentoring program was carried out on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, in several RT houses, accompanied by Mr. Saeful Bahri as the Head of Kledung Hamlet. The implementation of the PBB-P2 Payment Education and Mentoring Program and Payment Procedures through the Shopee Application began by discussing the definition of Land and Building Tax itself, the deadline for paying the tax, and the sanctions that will be obtained when Taxpayers are late in making PBB-P2 payments. In addition, the payment procedure was also conveyed through one of the features in the Shopee application as an alternative payment later. The steps to pay Land and Building Tax through the Shopee application are as follows:
- Book Shopee application
- Select the “Credit, Bills, & Entertainment” menu
- Select “PBB”
- Select Region (Central Java)
- Select PBB Year (2024)
- Enter Tax Object Number
- Click “View Bill” and check the bill details
- Select “Checkout” and the desired “Payment Method.”
- Select “Pay Now”
The implementation of this activity received a positive response and an enthusiastic welcome from the villagers. It discussed obstacles they usually encounter when making land and building tax payments. In addition, posters were distributed to several points, including the local RT and the Hamlet Head, which could be posted in their respective areas. The distribution of these posters is expected to spread information about PBB-P2 and its payment procedures through the Shopee application and reach other communities. This educational and mentoring activity is expected to increase the level of PBB-P2 payments with adequate payments through somewhat familiar applications and various forms of payment so that state revenues increase and the allocation of funds for regional development is distributed correctly.
