SEMARANG – In the midst of the challenges posed by the millennial industrial dynamics and the complexities of developing human resources (HR), skilled and professional graduates are essential to compete with advanced nations. This holds true for the graduates of the Chemical Engineering Technology Study Program (TRKI) at the Vocational School of Diponegoro University (SV Undip), who have been prepared to meet the demands of modern industry.

Mohamad Endy Julianto, the Head of the TRKI Study Program at SV Undip, explained that higher education institutions are required to continually innovate and enhance creativity in learning to align with global industrial needs. The TRKI program at SV Undip has taken strategic steps by implementing revitalization of vocational higher education to produce skilled and competent human resources.

This revitalization program includes dual systems, teaching factories, retooling (retraining), collaboration with industry practitioners, and support from Competency Certification Institutions (LSP). “Learning based on innovation development that is registered as patents and copyrights yields graduates who are highly sought after by modern industries,” Endy stated.

An inspiring example is Aisyah Nuraini, a student of the TRKI program at SV Undip, who has just completed her applied bachelor’s degree. Together with her advisor, Mohamad Endy Yulianto, Aisyah successfully obtained a Granted Patent for her innovative invention titled “Method for Producing Hesperidin from Lime Peels through Microwave Thermochemical Extraction” (Patent No. IDS000007235).

Aisyah explained that her research results were directed to be registered as a Simple Patent, which was deemed highly prospective for commercialization in industry, after analyzing data from the laboratory research. In addition to her patent achievement, Aisyah also secured two Intellectual Property Rights (HKI), with registration number EC00202270527.

With her granted patent and HKI, Aisyah is now receiving numerous offers from various industries, including PT Pertamina. She is currently undergoing training at PT Pertamina Hulu Energi for the Bachelor Profession Guidance (BPS) S1/D4 position.

Aisyah, who holds over 15 certificates, including Awareness ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Internal Auditor, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), HIRADC, and various other competency certificates, emphasizes that all her achievements are inseparable from the learning system implemented in the TRKI program at SV Undip. “The curriculum and the teaching skills of the lecturers are exceptional. All TRKI lecturers possess competency certificates and Assessor certifications. The educational staff in the TRKI program also hold various competency certificates, including K3, Energy Audit, Chemical Analysis, and some even serve as assessors,” Aisyah concluded enthusiastically.
