Semarang — The Diponegoro University Vocational School has strengthened its international partnership network through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Guangdong Open University, Wanxinda Industrial Park, Batang Special Economic Zone, and Diponegoro University on May 19, 2026.
In the signing ceremony, the Rector of UNDIP was represented by Prof. Budiyono, Dean of the Vocational School of UNDIP. The MoU marks an important strategic step in strengthening vocational education collaboration, human resource development, and industry–education integration between Indonesia and China.
The cooperation covers several important areas, including short-term vocational training programs, joint training initiatives, teaching factory development, student and lecturer exchanges, as well as the establishment of international industry-based training and learning centers. In addition, the collaboration is expected to support industrial needs within the Batang Industrial Park, particularly in intelligent manufacturing, green industry, automation technology, and cross-border e-commerce sectors.
Prof. Budiyono expressed his strong appreciation for the partnership and emphasized that the MoU should be followed immediately by concrete collaborative programs among the three parties.
“We highly welcome this collaboration. The most important thing is how this MoU can be followed by real activities and impactful programs that directly benefit students, lecturers, industries, and the development of vocational education,” said Prof. Budiyono.
Through this collaboration, the Vocational School of UNDIP further reinforces its commitment to developing a globally connected vocational education ecosystem aligned with international industrial needs. The involvement of international universities and industrial partners is expected to open broader opportunities for internships, training, certifications, and global employment pathways for UNDIP students and graduates.
This partnership also represents a concrete step in supporting the internationalization of education, strengthening teaching factory programs, and developing globally competitive vocational talents who are adaptive to future technological and industrial developments.
