SEMARANG, INDONESIA – The Vocational School of Diponegoro University (UNDIP) has achieved another significant milestone as its Applied Bachelor’s Program in Spatial Planning and Land Management officially earned the “Excellent” (Unggul) accreditation from Indonesia’s National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
The accreditation was granted under the Decree of the Executive Board Director of BAN-PT No. 7118/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/STr/VIII/2026 and is valid from August 18, 2026, to August 18, 2031.
This achievement reflects the program’s sustained commitment to strengthening the quality of applied higher education and marks another important step in advancing the vocational education ecosystem at Diponegoro University.
Dean of the Vocational School of UNDIP, Prof. Dr. Ir. Budiyono, M.Si., expressed his appreciation to the entire academic community of the Spatial Planning and Land Management Program for their dedication and continuous efforts to enhance academic quality.
“Excellent accreditation is more than an administrative achievement. It represents recognition of a long-term commitment to building and maintaining educational quality. I sincerely appreciate our lecturers, academic and administrative staff, students, alumni, partners, and everyone who has contributed to this achievement,” Budiyono said.
He emphasized that achieving Excellent accreditation also brings greater responsibility. The program is expected to continuously strengthen the quality of applied learning, graduate competencies, applied research, collaboration with industry and the world of work, and its contribution to society.
“Once we achieve Excellent accreditation, the next challenge is to ensure that excellence is increasingly reflected in the quality of our graduates and the impact we create. Vocational education must be able to connect knowledge and skills with solutions to real-world challenges,” he added.
Strengthening the World Class Vocational School Ecosystem
The achievement of the Spatial Planning and Land Management Program represents another important milestone in the Vocational School of UNDIP’s 2026–2030 roadmap toward becoming a World Class Vocational School.
The Vocational School continues to strengthen practice- and project-based education, applied research, industry engagement, global graduate competencies and employability, innovation, and sustainability. Through this ecosystem, vocational education is designed not only to prepare graduates for the world of work, but also to develop applied professionals who are capable of adapting, innovating, and providing solutions to the needs of industry and society.
In the fields of spatial planning and land management, future development challenges are becoming increasingly complex. Rapid urban growth, land governance, infrastructure development, land-use change, and the growing demand for sustainable development have made expertise in these areas increasingly relevant and strategic.
The Excellent accreditation is therefore expected to serve as a new momentum for the program to further expand collaboration with government institutions, industry and business partners, professional associations, as well as national and international partners.
“Excellent accreditation should give us new energy to move further forward. We want every study program at the Vocational School of UNDIP not only to meet excellent quality standards, but also to gain wider recognition through its graduates, innovations, achievements, and real-world contributions,” Budiyono said.
This achievement further strengthens the Vocational School of UNDIP’s commitment to delivering excellent, relevant, and impactful applied higher education as it continues its journey toward becoming a World Class Vocational School.
