Not hindered by physical limitations, the Diponegoro University Vocational School has held a socialization event for the 2024 Student Achievement Election (Pilmapres) by utilizing virtual technology via the Zoom platform. This decision is an intelligent adaptation step to ensure the smoothness and accessibility of events for all students amidst the continually developing situation.
The socialization event attended by dozens of students from various study programs at the Vocational School took place successfully via the Zoom platform. Participants are given an in-depth understanding of the competition’s objectives, assessment criteria, and the benefits of active participation in the Student Achievement Election. Mr. Prof. Dr. Ir. Budiyono, M. Si, Dean of the Diponegoro University Vocational School, stated in various words, “Even though we are limited in direct interaction, the spirit to achieve and innovate must still be maintained. “This socialization proves that we can adapt to the existing situation and continue to move forward.”
Participants also heard successful experiences from alums of previous Student Achievement Elections, who provided valuable insight into strategies and tips for facing this competition.
“I feel very helped by the experiences and tips from alumni participating in the Student Achievement Election. This provides additional motivation for me to try my best,” said Maya, one of the socialization participants.
This socialization also provides momentum to introduce the theme and focus of this year’s competition to the participants. With the theme “Innovation for the Progress of the Nation,” students are encouraged to produce creative ideas that can solve various challenges society faces.
At the end of the event, a question and answer session and discussion between participants and the Student Achievement Election committee was carried out smoothly through the interactive features provided by Zoom. The participants looked enthusiastic and ready to participate in the competition’s next stage.
With burning enthusiasm and full support from the university, it is hoped that participants in the 2024 Diponegoro University Vocational School’s Student Achievement Election will be able to produce innovative works that will have a positive impact on the nation’s progress, even through virtual platforms such as Zoom.
